A simple side dish for dosas, idlis and even upma. You can grate the coconut for a week and store in the fridge .Then grinding chutney in the morning is easy . This is the basic coconut chutney.You can add 1 tsp fried gram dal, or a small pinch of tamarind , or one shallot, or 2-3 curry leaves for a variation in taste.
Coconut ChutneyPrint This
- Grated coconut _ 1/2 cup
- Green chillies _ 2 ( adjust according to your taste )
- Salt and Water _ As needed.
- Coconut Oil _ 2 tsp
- Mustard _ 1/2 tsp
- Red chilly _ 1
- Curry Leaves
1. Grind coconut and green chillies adding salt and water .This chutney is of thick consistency .You can add more water if you want chutney to be more watery .( I add little more water if I ‘m having with idlis)
2. Transfer it to bowl .
3.Add the seasonings to chutney .
