Tortillas are thin unleavened flat bread made with corn or wheat flour. A flour tortilla or wheat tortillas are used in Mexican recipes ( very similar to Indian chapattis). Flour tortillas are used to make dishes such as tacos, quesadillas and burritos.
All purpose flour/ maida _ 1 cup
Wheat flour _ 1/4 cup
Olive oil _ 2-3 tbsp
Baking powder(optional) _ 1/4 tsp
Salt – As needed
water – As need
1. Mix both the flours, salt, baking powder well in a bowl add olive oil and mix knead to a smooth dough adding enough Luke warm water.Allow the rest the dough to rest for 15 minutes. Divide into 6- 8 equal sized balls.
2. Roll into thin . Heat a pan and cook the tortillas on both sides in medium flame until slight golden dots starts to appear.
