Kati roll is a street-food dish originating from the city of Kolkatha,India . Kati /Kathi means ” stick’ in native Bengali. Traditionally, a kati roll is a kati kebab wrapped in a layered paratha. Paneer Kati Rolls, paneer is marinated with various spices to make the filling and rolled in layered paratha.
Cut paneer into cubes add turmeric powder, chilli powder, vegetable masala powder, lemon juice, salt, ginger garlic finely crushed, yogurt, coriander leaves and mix well. Let it marinate for 1 hour.In a kadai /frying pan add the marinated paneer and cook till the mixture thickens ( in medium to low flame). Meanwhile saute onions, capsicums in little oil for 3-5 minutes ( to reduce it’s pungency) . Take one parathas/chapathi and spread tomato sauce. Line the paneer pieces on top and top it with sautéed onions and capsicum. Roll the roti/paratha and finally roll it with a foil/butter paper to hold it in shape. Fill the other parathas/ chapattis and serve hot.
